RE Paint

i want to re paint my truck but don't want to spend lots on striping.
can i just sand it down to the metal with a sander then repair any dents and stuff like that then prim and paint?

about how mcuh woudl it cost to get a good paint job done?

You can also learn how to refinish autos
and buy the equipment and do it yourself. (<$1000)

Depending on the existing paint you can
sand down the finish and use a real good
primer/surfacer that will last foreaver.

If you have any rust, you have to take it down
to bare metal and treat the rust.

If you have any holes you should have patch
panes welded in, but watch for streaching metal
with the high heat.

so it wouldn't work if i sanded to bare matal wheres theres rust and just preped that rest godo adn painted it myself?

No. You would need to cut out the rusted area and spot weld in a new panel. grind it smooth. Add some filler, and sand it down

so if i did that wheres theirs rust and then where theres already paint i just kinda buffed i could paint it?
