Paint Chipping off
Paint Chipping off
Ok, just as the title says, I am finding spots on my truck where the paint is chipping off. They are in odd spots, such as 2 spots on the lower side of the rear drivers side passenger door, one spot on the rear passenger side door, one on the top of the hood. All of these spots are circular and about the size of a #2 pencil lead un sharpened ( actually used that to measure).
These are not dings, or scratches. The paint is acutually chipping off.
Now, I take VERY good care of my truck (have posted pic on here before) and I'm really concerned this may become a MAJOR problem.
What should I do? Is it even worth my time to take it to the stealership? Should I take the painstaking process of properly doing touch up paint (I do know how to properly do it)
Just a FYI, I have a 07 KR 4x4, 6.5' bed with less than 14K on her.
What should I do? Has anyone else has this problem? I can post pics tomorrow if needed.
Thanks
Andy

Hard call... probably an uphill battle with the stealership but, that may be where I'd start. If, indeed, the paint application was flawed, maybe you have a legitimate claim... *shrugs* It'll be tough.
If I were you I would start at the dealership.. I have a 99 f-150 that is chipping paint, the body shops around here want anywhere from $3,200-$4200.. It's ridiculous i don't have enough paint chipping to cover my deductible on my insurance but there is no way i am going to pay that much for a paint job.. I would think your warranty should cover that since they aren't easily reached spots for rocks to hit...
