Exclamation Estimate??? HELP

due to my own stupidity today, can anybody give me a ballpark estimate of wat this would cost to fix?

on the front bumper, it's scratched to the plastic, so id assume id have to get it repainted? wat about the rear quarter panel, it is to the metal on the rear scratch.

Odds on about $350 for the bumper if it can be filled, about $550 for the rear panel maybe more if they have to refinish the whole side. Is this a metalic paint or solid color? Solid could be touched up and blended in.

I'd bet on more than that. Chances are you'll want to have that whole panel repainted in the rear, and you'd probably want the bumper repainted completely.

May be better to live with scratches filled in than pay for mis-matched paint. Atleast when you do a whole panel it's harder to tell and they can blend it in easier.

My buck 05.

yeah, it s a solid color.

and another question, on the car i bumped in to its also black by the way, with the front bumper, all it is is paint transfer from my front bumper to his rear panel, he got an estimate for about $600, i was wondering, if its just paint transfer, wat can i attempt to use to get rid of some of it, he is a friend of mine, so im sure he ll let me take a crack at it, to make an effort to save some$$$ clay bar, scratch x, wax it out????

Clay bar first. Then there are more things you can move onto, but I'd try clay first. It would be the safest.

if the front bumper cover doesnt need to be replaced, and the rear scratch is just a scratch and did not press a seem into the quarter (no dent only paint removed) it could be done for $500 and that would repaint the front bumper cover and fade the rear quarter....might look at a $800 bill if you want the entire rear quarter painted not just spot shot and clear faded in

yeah the front bumper just needs to be "filled" in. but the one one the quarter panel, the begining is white, so id assume its only on the clearcoat, but, the 2nd part is to metal.

There are chemicals that could be used to remove it as well, but you run the possibility of ruining the paint. Although, if it would be repainted anyways, it couldn't hurt.

Unless my eyes are seeing something different, i don't see any paint transfer to remove by using clay or chemicals.

Those scratches are through to the plastic and metal if I am looking at it correctly.

If there were other paint on there, yes using clay or something like Laqeour Thiner would be ok then, clean, polish and LSP. However in this case, it doesn't look like that is an option.

This is an example of paint transfer:

To the OP, sorry again about your mishap but I think the only real fix for this is a body shop.

I think he's talking about using clay on the friend's car. That's the way I read it anyhow. But we don't have any pictures of the friend's car. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup you are so right...I didn't even see that other post from the OP.

Thanks for pointing that out...my old eyes and fat fingers get in the way sometimes.

Lets see some pictures of the "friends car"
