projector headlights

has anyone tried to install projector headlights from a lightning to a 1997 f 150, i recently purchased a set of after market headlights and corners, they were advertised as fitting 1997 but guess what..... it looks like they would fit exactly into any year but 1997. just woundering if anybody made this work and could offer some advice before i take out the wizzer, holesaw, and drill. or should i just forget the whole thing.

LOOKED AT 2001 150, THERE DID NOT APPEAR TO BE A HEADLIGHT HOUSING, THE HEADLIGHT AND CORNERS MOUNTED DIRECTLY TO THE HEADER. IS THIS DIFFERENT IN THE '98 ? DO THEY HAVE A HEADLIGHT HOUSING LIKE THE '97 MODEL OR, DO THEY MOUNT DIRECTLY TO THE HEADER ?

Smart sellers on sleaze-bay will note the pre-whatever date / post date for the headlights. '97 was a weird year where the earlier models were different than the later (and '98 up) ones.
