I'm envying the step-tailgates on the new F250s and wondering if anything similar is available for my 2006 F150. A step folds out from the badging area on the outside of the tailgate, and a grab pole to hoist oneself is tucked flush on the inside wall of the tailgate when not in use. Already called Ford dealer and they said it would not work on the F150. Have any of you seen something similar available aftermarket for the F150?

nothing similar, it would take alot of body work to open up the f150 bed sides to house the wider 250/350 tailgate.

basically its not possilble, unless they release something in 09 on the "new" f150

 

From Ford, no, but I have seen aftermarket steps that get attached to the tailgate. They look similar to boat ladders.

 

in the new truckin' page 172 they install the new amp bedstep, pretty slick little step. spring loaded check that one out, maybe something you'll like.

 

They put all the neat stuff on the F250's like the pull out mirrors,trailer controler and the tail gate step. They don't think we need it on a F150,so if you want it buy bigger.

 

The '09 F150 will have it.

 

You haven't looked at an 08 F150 have you? No step, but the other stuff yes.
