F-150 Emblem Removal on 2007 models

Can anyone tell me if there is more than sticky what-not holding on the chrome F-150 emblems on the front/sides and the tailgate? I've been told several different stories.......just didn't want to start removing them and get any surprises.

No.

The tailgate is on there with very strong double-sided 3M tape from the factory.

I've had to replace mine twice.

A heat gun over the emblem with a small pick works like a gem..... just make sure you heat the emblem plenty as you work from one end to the other.

By the way, there are guide holes on the rear also.

So just for clarification, all emblems on our trucks have guide holes? Correct?

If so, I will use acetone to remove the black from the emblems and make them look chrome.
