antenna base removal on 04+

How the hell do you remove the antenna base? I searched but only got threads of the pre 04 models.

I tried the other day to pull it off and for the life of me i couldnt find out how.
I want that peice PTM and i reached in the inner fender and felt a few tabs. i figured it snapped in but tried pretty hard to pull it out and nothing. checked for maybe a screw or a nut but didnt really have any there.

Anyone removed one? Im really **** about little things and the ugly black base is pissin me off cause i cant remove it and paint it.

lol i think there is a nut on it but not sure. when i was installing my headers i looked dead at it an cant remember it for the life of me. if you take the inner fender linning out you will be able to access it with ease. the black lining that has like 3 push pins and 4 bolts in it. it removes very easily or you can just try to pry down on it and look at the bottom of the fender to see the antenna base. it was odd because i didnt understand why it had an orange cord going to mine but if you remove the inner fender it will be cake to get to

pulled it off the other day.
The plastic base only pops on and the actual metal base has three screws holding it to the fender.

i couldnt get the plastic because i was going in too far with my "tool" i was using to pry and was hitting the metal base.
You only have to get a small pocket knife and lift on the right side (farthest out) and the left side (near hood line) to pop the clips that hold the black plastic on.

yea yea, my antenna base has color though, does yours?

Its a small peice, but sure does look better. On your white truck it would look even better IMO

All i have to do now is figure out those nasty plastic bedcaps. Im thinking to have them lightly sprayed with bedliner when my bed gets sprayed.

I still have to do the lower rock caps in silver, but i already have the color, just gotta find time to pull them off, sand them and paint them.

I wonder if the sat reciever antenna will suffer on reception if i spray that?
That little pod up there doesnt bother me though.
