Driver's Side Power Mirror

I've a 97 F150 with an issue on the driver's side mirror. The control doesn't seem to control the mirror as it should. The up/down will work down and the left/right will work in a movement of left or right with a up or down motion. I recently hit this mirror on the garage door opening as I was backing out. It was doing this somewhat prior to the fold-back when I hit it, but is really doing it now! In fact the glass was somewhat loose from the motor. I removed it entirely and placed each prong back in where it should go. I'm assuming that it's out of sync?? Is there a way to correct this?

Thanks!

You probably popped one of the drive racks out of its ball socket on the swivel ring. Run the mirror fully down & inboard, then look behind it thru the top outer corner.

If you see one of the white plastic racks loose, you'll have to remove the mirror to reinstall the rack ball in the swivel ring.

To remove the mirror tray, use a hook pick to release a few of the "fingers" on the ring while pulling the mirror down & in. The mirror USUALLY breaks no matter how careful you are, so be prepared to buy another glass.
