2002 F-150 Door Rust

At the ripe old age of 5 years and 48k miles both passenger side doors on my supercab are rusting at the bottom seam. I guess this is fairly common, the passenger side cab corner not so much. It is still pretty fresh, the orange is just coming thru in all three areas. Any ideas on how long I have before it is a big deal? Rough estimates on getting it fixed? I want to get it fixed by winter for sure, but it will be a little while as I just sprung for dual exhaust, which I was admiring when I noticed the rust.

It is really sad when I my 1985 Ranger with 140k has a cleaner cab than my 2002 F-150 with only 48k. Granted the Ranger has been redone at some point in time, but I bought it 2 years before the F-150 was even built and it was far from fresh paint then.
