Angry Driver side window needs Viagra!

Well now that I have your attention ... was driving home from work today and went to put my driver side front window up, and ... nothing! Makes a weird noise and won't budge.

Got home, pulled the door panel, and I can see that whatever cable is used to hoist the window up and down has a snag/is wrapped around the pulley that (I assume) is supposed to move it.

Thankfully it's not supposed to rain here until Saturday, but I foresee an early morning trip to the Ford dealer tomorrow - more than likely won't see the truck again until this time next week judging by past experience.

Any thoughts or anyone else have this happen to them?

Here's a pic of the cable:

It's not difficult to change that regulator yourself. You'll probably have to drill out a couple of rivets, but you can use common 1/4-20x1/2" bolts & nylock nuts to replace them.

I ended up taking it to the local auto place - needed a new regulator, they said there are plastic clips that broke, causing the cable to bunch up.

Any idea what can cause this? Just a cheap OEM part perhaps?
