Body & Rear Axle Shutter
Body & Rear Axle Shutter
Hello,
I own a '99 F-150 4X4 with a 4.6L V8, manual transmission, and about 137K miles on it.
Lately when driving over speed bumps (around 5mph), the rear axle makes a loud shuttering noise almost as if I didn't have any suspension back there.
Also, when I go to slam the door shut, the entire box or frame makes a similar shutter. I'm thinking that perhaps I have some deteriorating body mounts? As for the axle, I have never changed the shocks but I don't want to start blindly spending money before getting some input.
Thanks,
dave
