Installing Vent Visors

Does anyone know how to install vent visors? I know it's a stupid question but it seems like it's a p.i.t.a. I just bought some in-channel visors. Do they fit in the actual window channel? Or do they fit in under the rubber channel on the outside of the window? I've also heard that you have to remove the side-view mirror triangle to install them. Is this true?? Thanks for the help.

I used AVS that's auto vent shade.

They were easy to install, I did it myself in 15 minutes or less and they mounted right to the rubber seal around the window. I paid $35 for the front two - I have a 2003 supercab.

I've already purchased these vent shades...not planning on returning them. :-) Has anyone installed IN CHANNEL vent shades?

The set I put on my 06 Scab go in the channel. You had to install the front edge in first the I had to bend it to get it in the channel. I was worried about breaking it but it will flex enough to get it in. It will hit the window when you put them up for a couple of days but once everything settled in they are fine. If I had it to do again I would buy WeatherTechs, the truck accessory store had another brand and they are okay but the WeatherTechs I put on my wife's car are superior to the ones I bought.

They go in the window channel. Clean the inner channel, install, and then leave the windows up for a couple of day to allow the adhesive to cure.

On a side note, remember to clean the window channel (rag over a credit card) when you wash the the truck. This will prevent the top of your windows from getting scratched up, like on my 98 Ranger.
