When driving along my hood appears to be loose, its a 2000 F-150 Lariat....... is this a normal problem? I can actually see my hood bouncing up and down a little when I drive. If I try lifting it (with it latched) it probably has about half an inch of play. I know on my last vehicle the hood latches were plastic and had to be replaced (it had one on either side).

Is there anything I can do? do all the F-150 hoods move like this? it's pretty disconcerting when driving along that I can hear my hood bouncing up and down.

I think all you have to do is adjust the latch. And maybe adjust the bumpers. There is 1 on each side up front.

 

if your gaps look good then the latch needs to come down, if you gaps are a little low to the fenders then you can adjust the hood stops up a little and get the play out of it.
