Replacement Rear Bumper

I just bought a 1997 F150 XLT 4.6 V8 SB Flareside, dunno much else about the truck as its my first F150. I purchased it from Maroone Ford in Miami and its in need of a replacement rear bumper as the chrome bumper on the truck is rusted out and has unsighlty holes where the previous owner backed it up into the water to remove a boat.

I have searched thru the forums looking for an aftermarket replacement or where to find a used bumper (junk yards etc.) but no sites offer the Flareside bumper as an option and they are hard to come by in the junk yards. My dilemma is I live in the Bahamas and was just wondering if anyone knew the cost of buying one new from the dealer, or have a website to source an aftermarket part that fits the 97' SUPRCAB FLARESIDE.

Thanks for your time.

P.S. I think the supercrew carries the same rear parts as the flareside.

I was quoted $635 for a new replacement w/labor after being rear ended on a 2000 flareside. I just took the check and put a sticker over the ding in the bumper. Here's a link to a real nice after market one.

I'll bet you can get a factory one around the same price.

Thanks for your reply. There are many options to choose from, but I may have to continue my search looking for a replacement O.E.M. bumper or just give in and grab a body kit!
