Painting Bumper Pads
Painting Bumper Pads
Okay, so I just spent the day removing my rear bumper's black plastic caps and the cover thing under the license plate (a pain in the a$$, believe me...I had to take everything apart short of removing the whole bumper). I did this because I want to paint them to match my truck's lower panel accent color, in my case, Harvest Gold (Arizona Beige for all you '04+ people). You have probably seen this on the '99-'03 Expedition Eddie Bauers...
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how I should go about doing this. Just sand, find a color-matched spray paint and paint it? I don't know.
I think this will be a really nice feature on my truck and any help is appreciated because I have never done this before.
Thanks. I will post pics when I'm done.

dupont makes a plastic paint kit, but im not sure exactly how you would go about getting it, its been my experience to do all the prep work yourself, then have it sprayed professionally, they can match the color alot closer, and it will be a better finish then an aerosol can. also the professional painters tend to rush small jobs like that to make the money, and wont make sure the part is prepped to the proper level.
