there are alot of people that have a slider and want a solid, so you might be able to find someone that will swap with you.

doing the work yourself buying new parts, your probably lookin at 300

dealer installed new parts probably closer to 600

Have you thought about a power sliding rear window? I have seen that on my friends truck (I have a manual one which I love) but the power option is really cool and saves a lot of reaching for that damn clip...and making SURE its clipped lol. I am not sure how much the auto ones are...but I am guessing (just shooting at the breese) that they are over 500

I have seen it done w/ the wiring going through the top down the A pillar (which is not too hard to do) and then placed into a switch from a contour (I saw that on this forum.) my friend just had a switch on the passanger door next to the driver's side arm (had a 97 so the back door didn't swing out in the supercab). Check w/ the King Ranch moderator.

I found this.

However, I'm sure there are more choices out there. Check with your local auto glass supplier too.

I have the power sliding window in my truck. If you want a slider, definitely get the power option. With your truck being a s-cab, it will be so much more convenient.

im thinking about putting a manual one in but a friend of mine said they are real easy to break in to is that true would you upgrade to a slider? my back window leaks when it rains so i got to do something. i dont want to go to a power one i think it would be hard to make it look factory.

If someone really wants to break in your truck, theyre gonna break into it...period. I think it's just a judgement call.

Unless someone has a slim-jim there is no real way to break into them besides breaking the glass. As mentioned above...if someone wants to break into one THAT bad then hell they will find a way...no if's and's or but's. A solid glass window is just as easy to shatter as a regular window. Secondly that little window is not big enough for me to get into/out of considering my shoulders get stuck before I get half my neck out of the cab, so I doubt that it's even plausible to do. Again it would be way more convinient to have an automatic one especially in a Scab.

On my buddy's SCAB, he has the power window, that came with the truck. He has had intermittant problems with it not working. The switch is on the drivers side arm, right by the power windows. As to wether the leads are already run, I do not know, but a dealer could probably tell you. As for breaking in. A criminal will her what they want, no matter what they have to do. They will break a window that gives them a way to unlock the door easily. Ref "Intro to Criminology"

I don't think the wires are already there. Behind my rear seats there is a motor, almost looks like an amplifier.
