Question Auto body shop folks please step inside...

The other day some kid hit my truck while coming out of the parking lot. He really didn't do that much damage and the insurance companies are calling it a no-fault due to the circumstances. SO heres my question. The only damage he did was he scratched my chrome bumper. It about the size of a quarter right on my right rear bumper. It's not worth the cost of me buying a new bumper. How much would it cost to have it sanded down and rechromed? Also if that is to expensive what do you suggest I do to keep the scratch from starting to rust? Someone mentioned covering it with clear nail polish or was. Will this keep it from rusting or are there other suggestions? Thank you in advance for all your help.

I'm no auto body expert, but I'd be checking ebay for a new bumper. Good luck.

Some lady rear ended me going around 5mph and put a little ding in the bumper. Her insurance adjuster wrote me a check for $650 on a new bumper and labor. I just put a sticker over it. He was considering totaling her '95 Honda though!!!!

haha chick backed into me in subway a bit back... she had some little SUV w/fiberglass rear end, I had my '03 F150 exted cab short box.

Put a little dint in the pannel and pushed the bumper down a bit... her whole back end was cracked and looked like ****...

we decided to just each cover our own.. but have to say, BUILT FORD TOUGH!
