Unhappy Can't Open The Door

I have a 2003 SuperCrew. One of my kids managed to get a T-shirt stuck in the door as he closed it and it must be jammed into the door latch mechanism. The electric lock on the door seems to work just fine. However, I can't get the door open from either the inside or outside levers. The shirt is wedged in there pretty good and I can't pull it loose with the door closed. It looks like I might be able to remove the door panel with the door closed but I don't know if that will even help. I see two phillips screws at the bottom of the panel and I imagine the rest will just pop loose if I pry on it a bit. Does anyone out there have any advice or suggestions on how to fix this? If not, I'll probably have to sell the kid to buy a new truck.

I'd sell the kid and buy a new truck
Seriously, I think you can remove the door panel with the door closed. If you can remove the two screws and (I beleive the inside handle) you should be able to lift upwards (towards the roof of the truck) and remove the panel.

Hope this helps
Mike

Removing the door panel won't help. If the door is UNlocked, the you can't do anything from inside that you can't do from outside, so I'd leave it alone.

Just hold the inside release handle like you're opening the door (to release the latch) & pound on the inside of the door with your hand near the latch to push it off the strike & the shirt. Once it's open, dig ALL the shirt out of the latch & shoot some spray lube (flowable grease is best) into it.
