Billet grille problems!

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a billet grill for my 2006 F-150 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-20...35121451QQrdZ1
after it arived I took it to my mechanic and he said the nose of my truck wouldn't work with it and that I needed to buy a bracket that would mount it so I was looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...29188007QQrdZ1
which looks to come with the full bracket and grill. My question is if anyone knows where I can possibly buy a bracket that will work for the grill I bought without having to purchase a whole new grill/bracket combo. Any help is much appreciated.

The grille you bought will work, but you must CUT the old center section out of your existing grille.

Lot's of grille's install this way.....I don't think you mechanic is knowledgeable about these things.

Well true, he did say it was do-able, but would be sort of a sloppy job since the original bracket is flimsy and not "meant" for this type of grill, his advice was a new bracket would make it more secure.

Well, the bracket that came with my Carriage Works grille was a 'Y' shaped bracket. There was one piece that attached to the grille and two pieces that attached to the underside of the hood to hold the entire grille and bezel.

Go to Stylin Concepts and check out the Carriage Works grilles. They have links on their site to the installation instructions so you can see what I am talking about.

Thanks for the tips, I would still like to know of a place that offers brackets that support these grills if they exsist.
