Hole in bumper question........

Looking at the rear bumper of my 04 screw, there is a hole on the right side next to where the tag is. It is just an open hole. I assume this is for spare tire access. Should there be a plug there to cover this hole? It looks a little bad to me just being a open hole. I would also like to get a plug of some type to put over the trailer ball hole on the bumper. I know this is picky stuff but do you guys know if these are things I can get at the dealer? I plan on stopping by there on the way home this evening. TIA

There's supposed to be a lock in there to protect your spare.

My '04 Lightning has a key (like a wheel lock key) that you attach to the handle for the lowering device - you can't just put regular handle in there to drop the spare.

I'm sure someone makes a plug for the hole, although I have not seen one.

The 04 F150, not Heritage, came with a plug. I would assume it has been lost by the previous owner.

Zaair, do you plan on not needing to drop your spare, or does the camera pop out easily?

Camera pops out easily, it's just two thumb nuts (kinda hard to explain). And I don't have a spare under their anyways, when I bought the truck there was no spare and no winch for it either. I do now have a matching spare, but no winch.

This leads me to another question......

I got down and looked under the truck. I see no way of lowering the spare. If I look in this hole there is nothing there. It looks like something is missing. Is there something that should be there to winch the spare down? Maybe something that sticks way up in there to crank it down?

Hey KH
Yes, there should (is) a winch there. It is mounted to the crossmember above
the spare tire. You can't see it when the spare is in place.
