My new fuel door.

Hey guys, I bought the Bully polished aluminum fuel door at Auto Zone for $40, and I really didn't like the way it looked on my truck so I had it painted at the local Ford body shop. What do you think?

Yeah, pics are huge, didn't have time to figure out how to reduce them off of my girlfriends computer and camera.

Those are some big picture. WOW I think the fuel door was actuall size on my computer. Anyways it looks great. I like the idea of painting it. I might do that of my 04 which is white.

Talking

I went to a few shops, even a powder coating shop. I went with the Ford dealership who charged me $75. The other paint shop said $100. The powder coating would have been great if they could match the paint on my truck. They were going to charge $15. If I had a black truck I would have gone with powder coating, but it's too risky with all of the shades of white. The Ford dealership didn't gurantee the paint to stick because of the type of metal, but so far so good. I could have spent $300 on an expensive fuel door, and had one that uses better materials or even a better hinge system, but for $115 total I was pretty happy.

Hey Austin how is paint on your door holding up? I've been thinking about doing this with mine. I'm just not sure if I should go with painting over a aluminum door or a powder coated door.

Um, wasn't the stock fuel door already white? Mine's red....

And what kind of truck is that? An FX4? I have never seen an '01-'03 SuperCrew with the white/charcoal....

Holy Huge Pictures Batman!

That's kinda cool. I've never liked the chrome doors.

I've seen Screws in that flavor.
