Steel bumper painting

I'm intalling a 2" steel tube prerunner style bumper and I would like some info on painting. I want to match the maroon paint on my truck with the shine coat on it as well. Any suggestions? my last resort is going to the dealership to match the paint. Any Ideas? Thanks!

Any decent body sho can match the color exactly for you. I think you may find that the biggest problem with this type of thing is the prep / primer work that's already done. These things usually rust out (in northern climates) pretty quickly because one cannot tell the difference between a good and bad paint job just by looking at it. I'd recommend asking the body shop about using a "chip guard" type primer because once you get a stone chip, the rust begins. Your truck has this type of coating on the rocker panels right from the factory for a similar reason.
