Ur looking at anywhere from 400 to 550. But check with you insurence company to see if you have any comperhencive (i think i spelled that wrong) insurence or at least a deductable. I replace mine in dec due to a crack and i only had to pay my 250 deductable. Also depending on the size of the crack they might be able to repair it (small cracks only rangeing up to a an inch to 3)

I paid 260 at Portland Glass in Manchester NH a year ago. Unless you've got full glass coverage, it's not worth putting in a claim. I learned that when it's time to get new insurance, like when you move from state to state, that a glass claim is looked upon as a claim and your new premium will reflect this. Dumb asses think because a rock hit your windshield, that your F'ing higher risk.... Total BS.... but that's part of the insurance game.

Not sure if Portland Glass is in your area, but do a google search and see what other glass companies are in their ownership. Portland is one of a group, can't remember the group name

Good luck!!

I just had mine replaced for $325.00 in Maryland. Safelite Auto Glass did it in 30 minutes! All out of pocket, don't file claims just makes you insurance jump!

I just wait till Alaska Glass calls me with their deals. I've had 6 windshields replaced, in my work parking lot or home driveway, for 20 bucks each out of my pocket. The rest is the insurance companies. The way it works is they someehow give you a rebate on the spot, which covers the deductible - 20 bucks. They'll do it anywhere you can meet them.

I switched from allstate a few years back, and nobody mentioned anything about windsheild claims when I went to country companies and got lower rates. They have not raised my rates for windshield replacements through them either. I heard some time ago that they allow you to get 4 new windshields a year, but I don't know if this is true. Around here, a new windshield only stays new for a couple days. My first one I had replaced got huge spider in it, thanks to a gravel hauler, the day I drove it home.

If you are paying out of pocket, call for many quotes. I call just about every glass shop in central Virginia when my windshield cracked in December. I got prices from $131.00 to over $500.00. Went with the second cheapest ($171.00) and was very satisfied.

i had my windshield replaced under insurance yesterday at safelite. cost of a ford window was around $200 and about $140 installation. i am pretty sure that was what the ticket said. it took a little more than half an hour and the guy did a great job.

I had my Silverado's windshield replaced when I was in Abilene, Tx at a Binswanger Glass location...If I remember correctly, they should have locations in the Metroplex...assuming that's where you are. The cost of my replacement was $150. Might be more for the newer Fords though..But, should be worth a call....

Ended up being 150 from AWG here in Dallas. They came out to my house in Mckinney on a Saturday. I gave the guy a 20 and a six of Bud for his trouble

Something nobody has mentioned is the glass type. Many glass shops will use cheap glass... you get what you pay for. My Explorer had three different Guardian windshields, and all of them had a series of roller ripples across it. For the fourth one I insisted they order Carlite, which is what Ford uses from the factory, and was the only one that didn't have the ripples.
