Cracked the passenger side mirror and need to replace. Not the shell, just the mirror itself. This may sound stupid, but how do you remove the mirror? Does it simply just pop off?

Please help.

 

I work at a glass shop and we do side views all the time. They are usually stuck on with double stick tape and silicone. The mirror has to be scraped off. A really sharp putty knife or chisel type razor and a lot of small broken pieces of mirror later and you have a clean surface to work with. Most auto glass shops stock replacement mirrors or can order you one for about 30 dollars. Glass shops also reglue rearview mirrors for about 5 bucks.
