I got in an accident about a week ago and tore my passenger side mirror off. I've found some used mirrors for pretty cheap but I can't find one that has a tan cover (to match my truck). If I get one painted a different color, can the cover be taken off and repainted? Truck is an 02 ext cab f150.

YEs the covers come off. You ave to be real careful but they will. Try to move the glass as far as you can from the top and bottom. If you look in side you can see 4 tabs. two on top and two on bottom Take a lond flat screwdriver and gently pry on each tab to release the cover. Then just prep and paint and snap back in.
