I am wondering if there is a new and improved door locks for the 2001 F150. My 2001 Ext. Cab has been broken into twice in the last 4 years. The SOB’s just knock out the key lock and opens the door. The locks are held in place by a plastic retaining ring that doesn’t take to much force to break. I am thinking of plugging the key holes with liquid steel. I just hope the battery doesn’t die. Thanks in advance for any comments.

I saw were they take a screwdriver and pop the plate around the door handle too get in. Nothing is safe any more,if they want in they will get in.The door glass is a weak spot also,some think it's nothing to break it out too get in a vel.The bottom line is there no way to stop a break in. Just watch were you park and have some lighting around where you park.

 

Thanks for the reply WildmanNP…..I always try to park in a very conspicuous space but that doesn’t seam to work. Hopefully the Ford engineers have realized the error of their design and will improve the door locks on future models?
