Bed Dimensions

Whats the difference between a 1995 short bed (6.5') and a 1997 and newer Short bed? I'm looking to get a used cap for my truck and from what i can gather...they are basically yhe same. But when i check the new caps, they all have different models for 97' and up compared to the 96' and down.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Could be wrong, but I would assume it's because of the "design". Most for a 97+ would be more rounded, normally anyways. and/or the rails being a little different, but I wouldn't see why they couldn't be made to work (if it won't just drop right on).
If no one replies with a definite answer, I can take some measurement of mine

I think alot of it has to do with the body design of the truck. The 96 and older were more square looking, and the 97 and newer have a more rounded look and the designed the caps to match the body of the truck, to make it look more natural to the truck, I'm sure the older type will work on the newer trucks it will just look wierd.
