Has anyone seen any good looking third tailights for the 05's? I have painted bumpers and don't really want a chrome light cover. I was thinking of something to black out the white parts.

 

I just bought a new 05, and one of the things I noticed that I don't like is the third brake light. It looks like it doesn't belong on my truck. Sort of a cheap plastic looking thing. So I would also be interested in something more appealing to the eye.

It is only an insert for the red part. I don't like the the white cargo light parts of our third tailight. Let me know if you come accross any thing.

 

I too just got an 05 and the 3rd brake light is disgusting to me. Reminds me of those clear tails everyone had a few years ago. Simply just doesn't fit the truck in my opinion. I don't care for the chrome covers or 4x4 or F150 inserts. I'm thinking of taking the cover off tomorrow and seeing if it can be painted on the inside of the cover. I'd like to leave the space where the lights are just the way it is, but maybe give it a black out treatment around the edges. A little worried about messing up the seal since I've read about a lot of them leaking. I saw one member here with an FX who has his smoked, maybe that's an option as well.
