Adding Bottom Accent Color

My wife and I are planning on buying a white 2002 F-250. We would like to have a body shop add a bottom gray accent color and stripe to the truck.

Can the side moldings be painted also at the same time or must we try to buy new side molding to match the paint? If so, will the paint last?

shouldn't be a problem painting the ones you have.

A friend of mine had his 2002 two-tone painted two weeks ago. He has a 2002 Toreador Red F-150 SuperCab and he painted a beige stripe along both sides of the bottom. What he decided to do at first sounded crazy to me, but when he showed me it looked great. They removed the moldings, painted the side about 1/4 inch above the molding, and then reinstalled the molding (without painting it beige also). The guy at the paintshop told him that they could easily remove the molding and paint it as well for no extra charge if he didn't like it, but he loves it and says that he gets good comments on it quite frequently. Looks unique, but great. I wish I had a picture of it.
