Stupid question

I know I could get on my back under the front of my truck and figure it out, but since I am sitting here having a cold brew I thought I would ask so I know beforehand.
How does one remove the front license plate mounting bracket from a 2002 Screw? I know California requires a front plate, but I have had several cars that I never put a front plate on. Also, when I bought the truck, It didn't have a front plate and I got tired of riding around with a yellow piece of cardboard that says "Another Fairway Ford Family Member" on the front of my truck.
So, how does the entire bracket come off of the valance?

I think there is a couple of rivets behind the plate holding the bracket to the bumper and a couple of push ins between the bumper and valance.

I just yanked mine out, although it left a couple of noticeable scratches in the front bumper cover.
