Need help removing door panels

Need help removing door panels

I have a 1997 F 150 and have to get the drivers door panel off so I can fix the lock. Can anyone clue me in on how to remove them?

Might be the same as the 03 I had.

Remove the trim piece on the upper left side. You should see one screw. Take that screw out. Then remove the trim piece under the interior door latch. Should be another screw under there. I think that was it. Now just slide the door skin straight up and it should be off.

Oh yeah...I just let mine hang by the power window wires but you can disconnect them if you like.

Thanks Jeff....worked great, just forgot about the window handle, but no problem there. Just a big pain getting the door handle back on with that crazy angle they gave it.

For your truck you remove the corner trim and upper window trim, pop out a plastic 2 part clip hiding behind each... Next remove a circlular cover near the door handle, remove an 8mm screw. Last pop up the electric locks and window panel, disconnect warnesses. Then lift UP(not out) on the door panel. Finally,unscrew the interior light socket.
