i own a 97 4.6 f150 and the damn hood wont close on me, i lubricated the **** and it seems to be stuck on something, anyone have any ideas how to fix this? i think the cable that connects the hood release to the hood latch is broken on the hood latch, does anyone know if i can remove the hood latch to this repair this, and if its an easy task?

if anyone is curious i easily fixed my hood latch, the latch has two springs in it the control the lever that goes back in forth to hold the hood closed and lock it shut, one of my springs broke i noticed after i took the whole thing apart and i easily replaced it after buying a similar one at the local hardware store because all the auto parts stores dont carry it and the dealer only sells the whole hood latch assembly and not just the springs
