Door is rusting.......................bad.
hEY,
I HAVE A 98 AND THE LOWER SECTION OF THE INTERIOR DOOR IS RUSTING PRETTY BADLY. IT'S WHERE THE DOOR TOUCHED THE ROCKER PANEL. i WAS JUST GOING TO HAVE A BODY SHOP GRIND IT OUT , TREAT IT, AND BONDO THE HECK OUT OF IT. THE TRUCK HAS 95K ON HER SO i DONT WANT TO SPEND A TON OF CASH TO FIX IT.
ANY OTHER IDEAS OR ANY IDEA HOW MUCH THAT MIGHT SET ME BACK. i LIVE IN mASSACHUSETES.

My 99 was doing the same thing before i traded it, seems to be a common problem with that body style.
I caught the onset of rust on mine early and began treating it with WD-40, seemed to help. I also washed the truck a lot and kept and eye on that area, was only the drivers side door and passenger side.
Sounds like yours may be a bit more advanced so you may have to go with the body shop route. If you do have it repaired keep track of it after especially in the winter, salt and grime love to collect in that area.
