just got my new F-150 and have noticed that the left side of the cowl vent collects water after washing or rain. The right side allows the water to drain but the left has a bottom on the panel.
What gives- is this a defect or was it designed to collect water for a purpose that escapes me ????

 

The wiper motor sits right under all that water. It's done this way to keep the motor dry and therefore, working.
