I had a couple of spots on my roof where the
paint had flaked off from the primer coat. These were very 2 small areas about the size of a silver dollar each. At first my service advisor said it looked like bird droppings had been left on for an extended amount of time. After I pointed out I wash my truck a couple times a week and all he had to do was look at my truck closely to see the care I took with it, they repainted the roof. It seems to have not returned but I still have the cracks in the rain gutters like everyone else.

I had a 99 F150 Supercab that the drip rail continued to peel away from the sealer. There is a sealer in the rail that covers, I assume< some welded seam. The sealer never setup at the factory and in course when painted it was soft and "flexed" in the change from hot to cool. This caused major cracking and flaking. After 5 trips and a threat to utilize the Texas Lemon law, Ford wavered and offered me $2000 in trade in assistance in which I purchased a 2001 4X4 Supercrew. So far no problems. The service advisor finally admitted that ford knew of the problem since my truck was not the only one to have this issue.

I have a 2000 and I am getting ready to take the truck back a second time to have the hood painted because the paint is spider-webbing right in the center, I hope they get it right this time, they painted it back in september 2000 and I just noticed it cracking again last week...

My driver's side door and my hood have paint crack's in them... I called ford about it and they said that they can't "promise" financial assistance but they said they would look into it. They are all over the driver's side door and in a few selected spot's on the hood but never the less they are still there.
