Rear-Window Leak

My rear window leaks on the pass. side pretty bad.

Now, I found a thread about how to remove the window, and scrape the seal off, then apply a new one, then stick the window back on.

I really don't have the time (or the weather) for that, and it's been raining pretty bad here. Is there something I can do to stop the leak for the time being?

I had mine replaced on my 97 F150 Lariat because I too was tired of the leak due to a crack in the frame. Cost me $212.00 for a new slider. Well worth it. No hassles.

What did you do fix you leak? Was there a crack? If so where?

Thanks,
Alan

Do you still have the name of the thread that had the instructions for the seal removal/installation?

Thanks,
Alan

I can find the rear window fix thread no problem using the search feature. Rockpick was the poster that detailed the procedure in the thread so you can search by his user name or by using "rear window" as the search topic.

My question is, if it's the infamous frame crack and not a seal problem does the fix still work? Also, if I were to replace the rear window all together, will another model year F-150 work in my 2000 or do I have to go aftermarket?

Yesterday I found the thread by using the search.

I will be doing mine this weekend, Im not looking forward to it, being x-cab.

Ive noticed that my third brake light has moisture in it. I was thinking that it might been leaking around that area, before I found the post on here.

Thanks for the help, Ill post a reply on my adventure on replacing the seal.
