Post HIDDEN GAS TANK

Anyone know whats involved? I saw in truckin mag where a guy has his gas tank behind his taillights...one opened up and then he can fill it. Im getting my truck painted soon and think the guy thats doing it can do it because he wants to relocate it in the bed, but is this a simple task for a master body person?

I assume you are referring to the gas tank filler pipe, not the gas tank itself.

A metal plate could be patched in to smooth the body and the filler could be located in the bed. Could become inconvenient if you had a full load in the bed.
Behind the light would be neat. The Flareside has a lot of room in that area. I have not looked at a Fleetside.

Here's a picture of the gas tank/filler pipe setup on a falreside...looks like a lot of work to relocate things. Neat idea, though.

Wink

That's an old Cadilac trick. They had the filler neck behind a hinged tailight in '48 or '49.
