Unhappy Egg damage! (Paint help)

I recently purchased a 2005 5.4 XLT Supercrew Dark Shadow Grey. a little over a month ago. It's been babied and recently some pranksters egged my vehicle. Well anyhow, to the damage- I discovered two points of impact where the intial 'whole' egg hit, one almost looks like a crater on the moon, just not as dramatic and the other is similar, it looks like a spider-webbed crack that extends outward maybe half an inch. I'm looking for some tips on how to take care of this, perhaps some touch up paint or something. There are no signs of dents, just break-out crack/scratches, I hope my description was decent and you can help. This is my first post, too

Yeah, I had it looked at at some auto paint/detailers. The bad news is that the painter said it cracked the paint and ate the clear coat. Removing the door, blending it, clear coating the entire thing for $1,100 . I resolved by going to a detailer and having it sanded/buffed waxed, etc. for $50 bucks, doesn't look as bad as it did before, but I guess it'll have to do.

I'm pretty sure I could buy a new door and tailgate for that much money.

Get your money

Have you thought about a civil lawsuit against the pranksters(assuming you know who they are) or possibly just taking the $1,100 out of their asses?

Police report was filed, not knowing who the suspects were doesn't leave me with a whole lot. However, I can wait out one night and if I do see them, I can make a citizen's arrest which is kind of cool Isn't much more I can do. I just had the detailer sand/wax it up, doesn't look half as bad as before, just got to wait
