Door Rust, interior

Hi Guys, Newbie here.
My question. ANy information on door rust on the inside of the doors. My doors on the bottom are all rusted. Nothing visible on the outside but definatly being attacked on the inside. Has there been a recall for this, is it normal (no) What can be done to stop this and prevent further decay?

this is a known problem. take it to the dealer and see what they can do for you. Ford never put any sealer around the edge of the metal to keep the water from getting into the lip. i know Ford has been covering it but if your out of warranty they still might be able to do something for you. i noticed my 2003 has the same same thing but i oil spray my truck every Fall and right now there is no rust (yet, knock on wood). good luck.

Thanks, Do you know how Ford is covering it? I have a 7 yr 100,000 mile warrantee. It has 88000 mile on it so I should be covered.

I have had the rust on mine as well. I was able to have it fixed under warrenty.
Here's a link to the thread which I had posted in previously.

How did they fix this? Did they replace the doors?

i've heard all they do is bend it back, repaint(primer) and add sealer and then bend it back in place. add some more sealer and paint. i guess they have a tool that helps lift it back so they can do the work. now if your door is rusted right thru, i would guess they would replace the door or door skin but i haven't heard of anyone getting that done. i would take it right away to the dealer if you have a problem. don't wait.
