When did the solid color side moulding start on the F-150's? I want to switch over
but I am not sure if my color was available on the 99-up models. Paint code is BA,anybody have this paint code after the 98 model production?? Thanks for any help,I hate these huge chrome strip mouldings from the factory,,,,,98

They did not have Prairie tan in 99. Only tanish color they had in 99 was the harvest gold. I'm not sure about other years. I only know this because I still have the buyers guide(if that's what's called).

Automatic, Reg. cab, 3.55LS, tinted windows, bug deflector, Dual exhaust, K&N Generation 2 air filter, BullDog keyless entry/remote start, Modern 16" wheels, bedliner, Covercraft tonneau cover, White faced gauges, electronic shift on the fly, Clarion ADX5655z Double Din Cassette & CD, 4 Pioneer TS-A6865 speakers and superchip. Going to add headers.


Future mods: Supercharger, headers, NOS, tranny upgrade(heavy duty gears, clutch packs, etc.), performance torque converter, bore engine 30 over, new pistons, crank, and rods, performance heads, new L is they still make them and I like the way it looks, and a Z06 Vette or BMW Z3.

Unless I'm mistaken, couldn't you just remove the strip? I guess if you like the extra detail it would make sense to keep it, but I'm pretty sure it's just help on with 3M adhesive. Also, I'm sure you could have it painted.

Yeah,I could take them off,I guess. I hate to invite the door dings. I am in a different city every few weeks,and alot of parking garages. As we all know,90% of people don't care about their own car,much less the one next to it . I was just hoping that the factory moulding would come in my color. I could try some aftermarket shops I guess. When I get home(finally,sigh) I can pull it off,,,,,,98

I wanted to do the same for my truck and lose the chrome stripe in the molding. I started looking into it and noticed that when Ford went to the new molding they deleted the 1 in front of the rear wheel on the box and I didnt dare just take it off. Because of paint problems I thought I would have.

I also noticed the front bed trim deletion,that's kind of strange if you ask me. It looks cleaner,though. My truck was just saved from a shopping cart by the oversized chrome laden trim. It happened the next day after I posted this question,must be a sign,lol,,,,,,98

(can't wait to get home,where the parking lots are flat )
