Question Need to replace front Bumper

Hello to all,

I have a '97 F150 4x4 Off Road 4.6. Thanks to the other halfs poor driving habbits, I need to replace my front bumper

I am thinking of using this site to order from- Auto Body Parts;

http://www.autobodypartsbuy.com/

The bumper is $152 and shipping is another $77.

has anyone used these guys? If so were you pleased with the quality of service and the parts? Did you find them pricy?

Thanks !

Darn the bad luck. I got my front bumper and bumper molding yesterday and on initial inspection I found a defect with the bumper. It appears during manufacturing the bumper developed a raised area in the radii of a 90-degree bend. The location is where the bumper molding will attach on the outer upper passenger side. The molding will actually hide it but if you are like me, you want a perfect part. Additionally the chrome has flaked off at the apex of the raised area. I called Auto Body Parts Buy (where I ordered the parts from) and they requested pics. I’ll have to borrow a digital camera tonight, as I don’t have one. Hopefully the fender will be replaced at no cost to me. If things get ugly, I’ll probably just keep it because like I said before the defect will be covered. I’ll keep you guys posted.

Well I borrowed a camera from my dad and the pics did the trick. Auto Body Parts Buy is going to send me another bumper at no cost. Also they told me I could just keep the first one they sent! So if anyone out there is looking for a replacement front bumper for a ’97 or ’98 F150 or Expo let me know. Like I said before the defect on the bumper will be hidden. Hopefully I can make up some of the cost by selling the first one they sent me.

I plan on actually performing the replacement some time next week. I'll post how it went when I'm done.

Hello to all. I finally got the bumper on yesterday. I had to purchase three additional bolts to finish the install (cross threaded them). My advice to anyone who replaces their bumper would definitely be to GET LONGER BOLTS. I wish I knew that before I started all this. The stock bolts are 1". The three replacements I had got were 1 1/2". Definitely better!

Now Hoss has a new front bumper, new REVO tires and a beautiful looking paint job as I just finished the detail two days ago. Darn Hoss looks bran new again

I hate to take Hoss out of the garage now because we just got 3" of snow! Oh well, it is winter in Wyoming!

Hey Hoss's Dad. Glad to hear ya got things together and lookin good.

Supprised there isnt more Wy. folks on here as it seems to be solidly Ford country.

I have family that lives in Sublet county in the Pinedale area, go out there at least every other year. Love it out there.

Have taken my current Baby out there twice and she will be making another trip this next summer for a 2 week stay.
Always make a stop in Cheyenne either on the way in or the way out.

Well anyway, glad to hear Hoss is back in the game..

Sled...

you need not to do that type of lengthy process of shipping etc. you just visit Akins collision center that offers wide range of auto body services including collision repair, car painting, body work, scratch removal, custom painting and all the other kinds of damage repair services that your car may need.
