Post 4x4 Valance and Fog lights

Want any comments good or bad on using this on a 4x2 model. I have the option of getting the whole kit from Ford through a friend for dirt cheap. It includes the following:

Valance w/out tow hook cutouts
Both lights
wiring harness
Hardware
new dash Headlight switch

All brand new in the box for less than I can get aftermarket valance with lights.
Is this a easy bolt on mod to put on a 4x2 vs 4x4 model. Looking for more lighting on front and this is a quick and cheap mod at the moment.

Can't comment on the electrical part, but if the screw/bolt pattern is the same between the 4x4 and 4x2, then it is a piece of cake!
I swapped between a stock 4x4 gray one and put an Arizona beige Eddie Bauer Expy one on my truck!! Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help guys, looks like I will tell him to get me it. I have another buddy who will pay for my old valance after he hit a concrete block in the parking lot and tore his up. This will help to make mine even cheaper. What was the cost of the kits you guys bought? Trying to figure out what kind of deal I`m getting...

Vocaire,
Thanks for the link of your truck as thats the look I`m looking for. I have not seen any 4x2 models around her with it added to get a look at how it would turn out.

Freezer,
Thanks for the offer of answering questions if needed. I have some Ford service/electrical/etc CD`s to look at wiring but from what I have seen they are not all that clear. I like the old books better so I may be asking where that "Yellow" wire is or near what .
Will look for your posts on the upgrade process in the search directory.

Thanks Guys!!!!

2000FordStyle, if I remember correctly I got my kit for $320. The MSRP was higher at about $400, but the Ford dealer where I got my truck gave me a discount because I recently purchased my truck through them.

If you have any questions feel free to send me an email at bfriesen@falcon.csc.calpoly.edu

2000FordStyle, I did this to my 2000 sport shortly after I got it. It was a bit of a pain (drilling through the firewall and running the wiring) but nothing too difficult. I love the way it looks, and because I wired it up myself, I can have the fogs on with just the parking lights, which looks really sharp. Anyway, I would really recommend it, especially if you can do it cheap. Here are some pictures:

I bought that exact same kit for my truck. I would highly recommend this upgrade. Having fog lights is very nice both functionally plus I think it improves the appearance of the vehicle.

Having done this install myself here are a few recommendations. First, get a friend to help and it will make positioning the valance much easier, plus running the wires will be easier. Also, it will probably take the better part of a day, so set aside the whole day to do it. Lastly, I ran into one small problem finding a specific wire under the dash. The instructions say something to the effect of "find the yellow/white wire coming from the steering column. If I remember correct I found several and didn't know which one. I ended up driving to the local Ford dealer and one of the techs was nice enough to help me find the wire I needed. Beyond that, I say go for it. If you have any questions to ask me feel free.

If you do a search on this site for posts of mine containing the word "fog" you should find the posts I've made talking about the entire upgrade process.
