Talking Hidden winch mount?

Has anyone put a winch on a 99' F-150 lately?
If so did you use a semi hidden mount from warn? I want to know because I bought a winch and I want to make my own hidden mount, so If any one has one I would like to hear from you!

Thanks

I'd also be very interested to hear about this. I want to put a winch on the KR, and curious whether I'll need to mount it on the Manik, or whether I can conceal it and mount lights on the guard.

Jim, you could actually do both.... The winch plate for the Manik mounts below the light bar... that's what those holes are for. So, you could get the winch mounting plate, and still put the lights up top. If you went with a hidden hitch, I think you should still be able to as well... most of them mount on the inside of the frame rails... the Manik mounts use the same holes, but the brackets go on the OUTSIDE of the frame rails, so I believe we would only need longer bolts (and about 8 pairs of hands to hold it all in place while we tighten it!). I've been looking into a reciever mount for mine, but I'm not so sure about how far they hang down... got some info and pics on the way from Reese, I believe...

Talking

Thanks for the info and I will have to contact him. I was also under my truck today looking at it and I decided I am going to try to use a piece of 7"/1/4" channel to make the mount. I think I will cut the ends to fit the frame and bolt into the same holes the tow hooks use. One problem with this is that I noticed that I will either have to cut tons of plastic for the roller fairlead or just when I go offroading I could remove the whole air dam (all the plastic on the bottom of the bumper). I think I will remove the plastic because it is only 6-7 screws and I won't break it off in the mud! Also when it is on know one will see the winch (theft) and it won't get covered in salt and crap from the roads up here in Canada!
