Rear facing seat for truck bed

I am wondering if its possible to add a rear-facing seat in the bed section of my truck. I have a Leer 100XL cap, a Bedrug and a Breezer window, and I think it would be nice to add extra seating capacity (especially due to having two carseats in my extra cab).

Also, is it legal. I live in CA.

Any links on where to buy them would be helpful. Thanks!

try www.jcwhitney.com Not sure if it is legal in Ca, but it isnt in Mich. Would check the law first. To be legal, you would have to have some kind of belts mounted back there too.

Sled...

Thanks for the link--

I can find front cab seats. Can I put a front benchseat facing rear in the bed?

I also saw an SUV rear facing third row seat. They seem narrow because the SUVs have wheel wells on both sides. I wonder if I could put one of those instead. Any ideas? Thanks.

those old Subby Brats had those didn't they. i believe you have to have a DOT approved seat mounted and seat belts to do it.

Look for a rear seat out of a Jeep. The one I have for my CJ7 has been in back of mine a couple times for BBQs, fireworks shows, etc. Big enough for two semi-comfortably. Better that sitting on the tailgate anyways...

In California, to be legal you must have the seats and seatbelts bolted to the bed of the truck. Check with your local P.D. I did, and that's what they told me.

Ive seen it

In an 03 Lightening at my Ford dealership. He did his up real nice, rear bench seat, fully carpeted bed with top of the line cap, belts, and all. Just gotta wonder, is there the same crash protection in a bed as there is in the cab? I think not, so I'd reserve those seats for low speed cruising.
