I have a 2000 with the chrome grill and want to replace the insert with a 99 honeycomb insert. They look like they should interchange but before I start taking things apart I would like to hear from some of you that have done this change.
Also I was told by a mechanic that it will be necessary to remove the entire grill to remove the insert. Can someone help with these questions.

If I'm not mistaken the chrome grille is a one piece unit. If it is,it would be easier just to get a new grille shell,which you can order already painted from a dealer.
I'm not clear on what your asking,I guess. Are you wanting to have a chrome grill with the honeycomb opening? If so,it
sounds like difficult job.... You could buy an unpainted shell,take the comb part out,have it chromed,then put it back together.....clear it up a little,eh?,,,98

Let me see if I can explain a little better what I am trying to do.
My shell and grill are like the one at the top of this page. It has a chrome shell and the insert snaps in from what I can feel through the openings.
I want to replace the insert with a honeycomb insert off a 1999 4WD. I haven't got the 99 insert yet and they certainly look like the will interchange. Was just wondering if any of you guys know if they will swap.
Also, I see that you are a bodyman. Heres another question for you!
I am thinking of painting the bumper valances
to match the rest of the truck (oxford white) and I am wondering how they will look painted since the are the sorta grainy finished plastic.
