Post Tap Light SnugLid

I know its cheesy but I needed some light under my SnugLid hard tonneau so I Velcroed a couple of tap lights...I was lazy and didn't feel like running any wires. I works OK...not the best but it's cheap and it works.

Marv, I like the light, simple and effective. Do you have any pics of your hard cover closed. I'm looking into one and I want 1 that sits down low and flat. I hate it when hard covers are 5 inches over the bed. in my opinion it just mess's up the contours of the bed, but thats just my a$$hole. (like opinion, everyone has one). Any pics would be nice and also if you could give a make, model, price(if you dont mind). Thanks

Wink

Mine was $750 plus tax. It sits flat, with only two little stainless locks on the outside. I also hate those ones that look like someone chopped the top off of a camper top,,,98

F150Degrees:
Here's a picture of my truck. The cover is a SnugLid and cost about $600 installed. I really like the looks and the security it gives...it sure helps during Christmas shooping. The lid also helps with freeway ride; before, the truck used to bounce a lot but after I got the Snuglid it has settled down a lot. I think its the extra weight and the aerdynamics.

Cool

The tap light idea is great! It would allow easy removal of the lid without having to mess with wiring, etc. Thanks!

Unicover makes a nice flat Tonneau, as well. It sits on top of the rails and is super easy to remove, if needed for hauling large items. Check out: http://www.nvo.com/truckjewelry/tonneaucovers/item.nhtml?profile=tonneauc overs&UID=103&Direction=Back

The jaggies in the pic of my truck below is because I need a new digital camera!

Talking

This is funny! (to me anyway) I helped a
buddy put a light in his bed yesterday, and
I thought of doing the same thing you did!
We wondered though how long they would stick
with slamming the lid and stuff. We just ran
a wire to the constant hot on the trailer
plug. Let us know if they come loose because
I'm going to look at a lid today and would
rather use a light like that. Additionally,
you don't have to worry about accidentally
leaving them on and running you truck
battery down.

I used the big squares of Velcro and they seem to be holding great. I primed the surface of the lid with gloss white paint to give the adhesive something to stick to.

The light output is not the greatest but its sufficient for quick loads/unloads.
