Question Moonroof

I am thinking about ordering a new supercab.
I hear that a power moonroof is available.
Has anyone seen one yet, or are they available yet?

FXRD, I believe that it is the same as the moonroof in the 'crew. There is a picture of it in the new ford "catalog" (a brochure that has all the pickups and vans in it). From the looks of it, the front overhead console is smaller. You lose the sunglasses holder and the garage door opener holder, and the controls are there (keeps the temp and compass though). Looks cool from the inside, makes me wish that I had waited to get mine...

I was looking into a new ASC moonroof, but not sure. Go for the factory one. They are designed from the factory with drainage tunnels. I have seen 2 Ext Cabs on the board with them. They are nice.

Go for it! I have the moon roof in my Supercrew and love it. No problems with it yet. If I remember right it had a dealer cost of $600. or so.

In 98, Ford did not have a moonroof option for the F-150's.
I ended up going with the ASC 9000.
Not sure of the model number. But that was a $1200 aftermarket option. That $600 price tag sounds great. I have had a few minor leaks but that is when it was pouring sheets of rain....

I've got a Holandia sunroof... Thought originally it was an ASC until I saw the warranty paperwork. Lifetime Guarantee on all the parts, lifetime guarantee against leakage. No leaks yet, and the sunroof was installed Jan 31 this year! Of course, the truck only has 214 miles on it now... ;-) Sat for a LOOOONG time waiting for Ford to take care of my Lemon! So, now the truck is a year old even though I've only owned it for 2 weeks! :-)

Question

Does anyone know if dealers will install
the option in a y2k ext cab? I have the overhead console. Don't even use the glasses
holder much because in the sun your glasses really get baked in hot weather! I like the idea of a good moonroof and don't even care if it's power, though that would be nice. I guess I'd be hesitant to let someone cut the roof unless it was dealer so there would be recourse in case of a screw-up ...They NEVER screw up! (ya, sure).
Thanks.
Charlie

Thanks all for the comments. We will find
out soon if the power roof is available, and
how long it will be in getting here. Just
placed the order for the SuperCab.
Stay tuned, but this will not be as good
as the Fla. mess.
