Rust dots on front bumper
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone can comment on what I should do about two little rust spots on my front colored key bumper.
Should I apply some touch up paint or see if the dealership will do anything about it. It's still under warranty. It seems like a minor thing but then again it really isn't is it? We all take pride in our trucks and I think the littlest thing is enough to be concerned about.

Manufacturers take the position that rust that is thru the paint and not thru the metal is the responsibility of the owner to keep paint intact.
Dealers who understand customer satisfaction AND the fact that they can get more from the Manufacturer for a warranty claim than when the customer goes to Al's Body & Paint -- will fix it right and bill Ford.
Your task is to find a dealer with the right attitude.

Welcome to the wonderful world of rail dust!
When cars are transported by train metal from the wheels and tracks land on the cars, and the slivers are extremely hot and burn into the paint. This is why new cars now have protective plastic on horizontal surfaces. On the bumpers and hood and even the top of the car. The fix????? What happened to me was I saw a car that I liked. It happened to be very late and we decided to take the car to our local mechanic. In the morning I saw these little rust spots on the truck lid. I took it to another ford dealer and that's when I learned about this problem. They stated that this is a problem. The only fix was a good detailing job.
