Thinking about removing mine. They've been there a long time. Will the paint/wax look OK? Can I remove any evidence with cleaner/wax or a clay bar? I'm sure someone has done this...

 

I just took the pinstriping off of my green truck after 3yrs of baking in the hot southern sun, I waxed my vehicle about 15 times over the 3 yrs and I didn't notice any sunfade at all.
I was advised to try either mineral spirits or possibly vegetable oil to remove any residual glue.

I removed mine yesterday with a little patience and no chemicals (used fingernails to get started on one corner). They had been on for well over a year, which included some serious heat in the mid-west. A little wax/cleaner took care of minor residue. My truck is black and you can't tell the difference.
