Running Board Hardware

I picked up some running boards for my 99 reg cab today at a car show/swap meet but without hardware. Will I be able to get this hardware at a Ford parts desk as a package easily? Is this the sort of the thing I can pick up at a Home Depot without worrying about bolt strength?

$50 CDN and the plastic pieces have a couple mild scratches on the bottom - I'm rather pleased with the purchase.

Running boards are bolted like nerf bars which is to the underside of the cab itself, meaning the sheet metal. I discovered this while changing the fuel filter. Putting enough weight on the boards to break the bolts should be enough to rip the boards right off the sheet metal. (Provided the right size bolts are used) That's why I try not to step on my bars unless I have to, they're mainly for looks is how I see it.

Really? That's no good. I bought them specifically for someone who has difficulty gaining access to the truck and would need to use them. Right now the solution has been to tie a Rubbermaid step stool to twine and use that to gain access then tug it in by the twine. Of course the step bouces off the side of the truck which is just no good.

What weight would you say the step is good for during occassional use?

Ions,

Don't worry too much about it, the steps should be more than able to handle an average person's weight. I just wouldn't jump up and down on it and see what happens .

Went to my Ford dealer's parts desk and was told that I can only get the hardware for the running board by buying the running boards. Not a good solution.

Any thoughts? Where can I get the specs for the hardware so I can pick something up at Brafasco?
